When standing with the proximity smart key for more than three seconds within a metre of the rear of the vehicle, the Smart Boot senses your presence and automatically opens to allow you to store your cargo, hands free. The Smart Boot also opens and closes at the press of a button.

LED Daytime Running Lamps with dusk sensing headlamps.

The i40 Tourer is available with a 2.0 litre Nu 2.0 Gasoline direct-injection (GDi) engine with Continuously Variable Valve Timing (CVVT).

1.7 CRDi Diesel engine.

The i40 is available with a 1.7 litre U-II engine featuring smart common rail turbo Diesel technology.

Paddle shifters.

Paddle shifters enable fingertip up- and down-shifting for even greater control and a sportier driving feel.

Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS).

A camera mounted on top of the windshield enables Genesis to recognise the markings on the lane you’re driving in and, if it detects an unintended departure, initiates an alert to the driver.

Emergency Stop Signal (ESS).

If you have to suddenly slam on your brakes, ESS will make your brake lights flash to give following traffic more warning. If you come to a complete stop, the hazard lights will flash – until you start to accelerate again.

Front and rear parking assist system.

The Smart Parking Assist System (SPAS) cleverly-hidden rear-view camera activates when reverse is selected, so you can see where you’re going on the LCD multimedia screen. And four rear-mounted sensors help to keep you on track, resulting in perfect parking every time. While reversing, four rear-mounted sensors provide an audible alert when detecting obstacles behind your car.

Vehicle Stability Management with ESC incorporating TCS.

You could be driving along happily, when, all of a sudden, the vehicle starts to skid away from your intended direction. VSM is designed to detect this and apply corrective steering pressure to help you regain control. Electronic Stability Control activates brakes on individual wheels to help correct skidding if you lose steering control. And Traction Control System helps to reduce wheel spin on slippery or uneven surfaces, for a safer and smoother drive.

Hill-start Assist Control (HAC).

Hill starts can be pretty scary. Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) holds the vehicle temporarily when you take your foot off the brake to give you extra time to apply the accelerator, and drive off without rollback.
